Barriers to Success

FTMI2

Imagine building a house on a foundation of sand. Such a foundation will not be strong enough to sustain itself nor withstand challenging weather conditions. In the same way, the foundation of a child’s life is very important and impacts the rest his life.

A loving, supportive home environment and parental involvement are keys to a solid foundation and a good start for a child’s life. Families who spend time together and have parents who are involved in their children’s lives, tend to produce children that fare better in school and exhibit fewer behavioral problems.

On the contrary, the less time parents spend with their children the more likely these children will experience drug abuse, perform poorly in school, lack confidence, are directionless, and will not respect authority.
